Introduction to Design
Understanding the multifaceted concept
Design has mostly been viewed from a visual and aesthetic perspective but it's far beyond the visuals and aesthetics. It is more of a concept, a plan, or a system.
Design is more directed towards creating a plan or procedure for the production of a material, system or measurable human interaction.
The human interaction could be in form of architectural blueprints, website wireframes, sketches, engineering drawings, and business processes.
Design has been seen to have relevance in different fields. In some cases, the direct construction of an object (as in coding, and graphic design) is also considered to be designed.
Designing brings about the necessity to put in mind the visuals, aesthetics functionality, and even the economic importance in making the process and also making the final product.
It involves a process of research, thought, modeling, prototype, interactive adjustment, and re-design.
Design could be called an abstract of some created things (the design of something) or It can also be used as a verb for the process of creation. Depending on the context of use.
How do you Explain Design?
Design could better be explained as a plan for the construction of an item, an object, a system, or the execution of a process that gives the result in the form of a prototype, product, or process.
Seeing design this way gives you the ability to see design beyond what you have thought of it to be. Many people relate design to just visuals like - Patterns, Colours, or a piece of artwork. They are examples of design products and can also be called a design.
What is the purpose of design?
Design is more of strategy than aesthetics. Design creates the platform to create simultaneously consider the purpose, function, economics, sociocultural factors, and also aesthetics.
Design defines the process, it states the objectives and the End Result
